 September , 2008 – Hobbyists will agree that there is nothing more exciting than rolling up your sleeves and getting down to brass tacks when it comes to building something ground up, be it a new dog house, an artistic piece of furniture, a motorized hang glider or for that matter your very own Personal Computer (PC). And that is exactly what more than 5000 students from across 10 major engineering colleges in Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai will be doing at a novel ‘Do-it-Yourself' program designed to encourage PC Assembly amongst technically qualified students.
To be held between 5 th -19 th September and organized by IMC Terminus, a leading producer of student education programs, this event is being sponsored by GIGABYTE , the leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, GlacialTech , the diversified provider of cooling, power supply, PC enclosure solutions for consumer and industrial applications, and Nanopoint Technology Inc ., the leading manufacturer of TAGAN high end power supply units ,
 During the event, A “ Who Can Build the Fastest Core 2 Duo PC” contest will be conducted at each college, on a regular college day and in close association of the college faculty. Student teams, selected by the college faculty after a brief qualifying test and comprising of three members per team, will assemble PCs within the stipulated contest times. The fastest team to assemble a Core 2 Duo PC will walk away with attractive prizes, including the cash prize. There will be other attractive prizes for the runner ups and participating contestants, as well.
A random quiz contest, on PC technology related subjects, is designed to keep the non-contestants engaged during the assembly contest and will enable students to learn, in a fun-oriented environment. The event will also witness the presence of senior GlacialTech, NanoPoint and GIGABYTE officials, who along with the college faculty will give away prizes to the winners at the end of the program. |
